Did not get to experience the earthquake when i was in Jakarta. =(
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Was in Jakarta the whole of last week. Its just another metropolitan in our south east asian community.
This corner is dedicated to all soccer fans who was in Changi Airport. All tornaments are broadcast live hence if you want to catch some this is da place. The entrance fee would be one flight ticket. Indonesia had it broadcast for free and Malaysia had 10 times more matches to see compared to Singapore. Damn St@rbloodyhub tha blood suckers!
Sometimes its great to see people work while you are waiting for your turn to board the plane. Look at how things are organized and how they get their job done. Oei!!!!!! Why are you using bicycle pumps to inflate the tyres?
I notice this man-made pond in the middle of the airport. Was enjoying the sight of fishes frolicking among each other and something caught my eyes.
Was trying to focus on the bottom of the pond but this fish came abruptly and interupt everything.
Oei!! You again!! Quit bugging me!!
There.... not a good shot but at least able to make out what lies beneath. Coins? Its a fish pond not a wishing well you horrible tourists!! Don't pollute the water with your dirty money!!
Oh yeah... Don't feed the fishes cos they can afford to buy their own food from all those coins in the pond.
This is a common sorry sight in Jakarta. Bumper to bumper trafic jams!! Most of my time i spend it inside the car rather than visiting customers. Oh well i let my colleague do the driving while i grab some shut eye and by the time i was awake... presto!! No more traffic congestions. =D
OK... driving style in Indonesia. See buses and lorries travel as and when and wherever they like. It takes guts of steel to drive there. Vehicles would just come right into your path and you would have to jam your brakes pretty hard until things fly forward from the back of your car.
Well if the bus is on the right lane, we'd travel on the left. Have to keep swirling around here and there to get around. If not you would be following some bozo who drives at 50 km/h and takes you longer than usual to get to your destination.
Oh great!! 2 lorries on the left and middle lane and the bus takes right. How inconsiderate.....
Well, there is always the emergency lane. Yeah... we are breaking the law!! Seems like no one gives a shit and with the lorries and buses occupying all 3 lanes we don't give a damn at all.
I did ask my friend to back off a bit after seeing this. Its a similar medium sized lorry as the yellow ones but its very much over-weight and we are going up a slope. There is a tendency that the bloody lorry will tip it wheels and roll down like a giant snowball!! Man... i don't wish to be scraped up from the road and i was told that the week before there was an accident with such similar incident. The lorry was over loaded, it was going on a fly-over, the slope was too much for it to handle, it tip its wheels and topple down the fly-over squashing a passenger car which was just passing through it. What an irony!!
Thick fumes can be found once we are near the city. Not sure if its haze but i am pretty sure its not burning season yet.
Welcome to the 3rd most polluted city in the world. Not a nice feeling to be breathing air from such atmosphere. You'll get a suprise when you dig your nose. Gah!!!
Looks like China? Vietnam? Was at some rural place in Indonesia. The people here are not so well off hence they can only afford a motorcycle.
Waiting room at Sukarno Harta International Airport. Simple back to basic type with no lavish seats and carpeted flooring.
Cool reflection i got from the shot in my hotel room. Notice my pom pom hair style?
