Abstract from Wikipedia:
On September 4, 2006, shortly after 11:00 a.m. local time (01:00 UTC), Irwin was killed in a marine accident while filming an underwater documentary in the Great Barrier Reef off the Low Isles near Port Douglas, north of Cairns, Queensland, Australia. He was stung through the chest by a stingray, causing a fatal wound [1]. The Queensland Police Service issued an advisory of his death. [2]. Steve was immediately pronounced dead at the scene [3]. Queensland Police Services also confirmed Irwin's death and said his family had been notified. In a statement released to Australian media, Foreign Minister Alexander Downer expressed his sorrow and said that he was fond of Irwin and was very appreciative of all the work he had done in promoting Australia overseas.[4]
Amused by his enthusiasm and interest in reptiles, he was famous for helping zoos in transfering their crocs from one pond to another. They require an expert whom are able to think, act and behave like a buaya hence Steve is tha man.

In our thoughts which is a little traditional compared to this siao ang moh where he literally put his head into the mouth of a wild croc and still laugh about it. If possible i think he'll even ask the croc to blow for him. His interest in wild life surely did help him to boost his career while being a manager and owner of a zoo in Queensland, Australia.

Thanks Steve for educating the young, protecting the wildlife and providing entertainment to all. You'll be remembered by both man and animals.

PS:~ i will eat more stingray...
